Experienced Mental Health Care Professionals

At Larson Mental Health, we’ve assembled a talented team of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners in Colorado (PMHNPs) who are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat those with mental health conditions. By working closely with patients to prevent, identify, and manage symptoms of various mental health conditions, our team can help improve your quality of life and your long-term mental wellness. And with offices across the state, we have many highly trained and qualified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, and Highlands Ranch to support your mental health goals.

Our PMHNPs are experts in psychopharmacology, which means we possess an in-depth knowledge of all psychiatric medications, how each one affects brain chemistry, and how to effectively prescribe them for optimal outcomes. If you’re looking for ways to mitigate your symptoms and improve your mental health, our talented team can help.

Amy Perry, MSN-BSN, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in Fort Collins

(Preferred pronouns: She/her/hers)

*Amy treats patients ages 8+ in our Fort Collins clinic.

Amy has lived in Colorado since May 2023 and has over 20 years’ experience in healthcare. She began her career as a Registered Nurse, working in a variety of critical care and mental health care settings.  As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2020, she has experience in providing outpatient care to children, adolescents, and adults with concerns including mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and more.

Amy’s decision to specialize in mental health care was shaped by both her professional experiences and personal life, where she witnessed the impact of untreated mental health conditions in patients and loved ones – often due to limited access to care or fear of stigma. She is passionate about increasing access to mental health services and reducing stigma through advocacy, education, and thoughtful, inclusive care that serves individuals across diverse communities and backgrounds.

Amy strives to create a welcoming, open-minded environment where clients feel safe, valued, and heard. She brings warmth and lightheartedness into professional interactions when appropriate and appreciates the role humor can play in building rapport and supporting healing. Her treatment approach is holistic, evidence-based, and patient-centered. She believes that, while medication is helpful for many people, adjunctive therapy and lifestyle modifications—such as prioritizing physical activity, nutrition, sleep, and social connection—are essential to long-term well-being. She works collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals, foster resilience, and promote meaningful, sustainable healing.

Amy has one son and three rescue dogs. In her free time, she enjoys paddleboarding, being outdoors, throwing darts (poorly), reading, and listening to podcasts or music.
