Erik Larson, PMHNP-BC, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in Denver, Colorado

Erik Larson has been working in healthcare since 2005, after receiving his bachelor's degree in nursing from Regis University and becoming a Registered Nurse. He began working at Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO, and spent years treating patients with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. In 2011, while continuing to work at Craig Hospital, he started work on his Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Colorado. After graduating in 2013 and gaining his Board Certification and License, he was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army. Beginning in 2014, he spent 3 years on Active Duty as a Nurse Practitioner. He was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, in Tacoma, WA. During his time in the Army, CPT Larson was assigned to provide Behavioral Health support to a variety of units, including the 2nd Infantry Division, 1st Special Forces Group, 75th Ranger Regiment, and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, as well as providing inpatient treatment at Madigan Army Medical Center and treating personnel in the Warrior Transition Clinic. 

Since leaving Active Duty in January 2017, Erik has been working in community mental health in the Denver area. Erik has extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse and addiction, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, schizophrenia/psychosis, and bipolar disorder. He has also spent many years treating the effects of mild to severe traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). 

Erik has spent his healthcare career working in world-class organizations with top-notch professionals, treating patients at the tops of their fields. He understands the need for efficient, effective treatment that allows for the maintenance and continuation of a regular life.
