Jorge Correia, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Jorge is a licensed, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Boulder. He has years of experience covering inpatient psychiatric hospitals and outpatient mental health clinics, treating patients falling anywhere across the lifespan. He has experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, substance use disorders, personality disorders and schizophrenia.

Jorge’s career began as a medic in the United States Army, where he was a line medic attached to infantry units but also worked with medical providers in military medical facilities. Since leaving Active Duty in May 2016, Jorge devoted his time to nursing. Had previously completed an associate’s degree in nursing from Quincy College, he then proceeded to finish his Bachelor of Nursing degree from UCCS and worked as a registered nurse at different settings in varied of roles to include orthopedics, oncology, medical-surgical, primary care, mental health and community health.

Driven by seeing his fellow veterans struggles with mental health, Jorge decided to further advance his education to become a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing also from UCCS and then proceeded to get his Doctor of Nursing degree from Yale University. Jorge is passionate about treatment resistant depression having completed trainings and fellowships in TMS, ETC and psychedelics (ketamine and psilocybin).

Jorge believes every patient is unique and tailors his approach to align with each specific situation.

On his time off work, Jorge enjoys spending time with his son. Jorge is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing soccer, volleyball and basketball with his friends. He also likes to spend time in nature hiking the endless trails of Colorado.
