At Larson Mental Health, we’ve assembled a talented team of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners in Colorado (PMHNPs) who are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat those with mental health conditions. By working closely with patients to prevent, identify, and manage symptoms of various mental health conditions, our team can help improve your quality of life and your long-term mental wellness. And with offices across the state, we have many highly trained and qualified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, and Highlands Ranch to support your mental health goals.

Our PMHNPs are experts in psychopharmacology, which means we possess an in-depth knowledge of all psychiatric medications, how each one affects brain chemistry, and how to effectively prescribe them for optimal outcomes. Marsha is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) now practicing with the Larson Mental Health team in Fort Collins. Marsha’s interest in psychology and passion for mental health began in high school, leading her to earn a Bachelor degree in Psychology in 2006. With this degree she has worked in residential treatment programs with adolescents and as a case manager and educator in the corrections system. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Northern Colorado in 2015 and has been a practicing nurse for 9 years, with nearly 8 of those as a psychiatric nurse. Her extensive psychiatric nursing experience has allowed Marsha to hone a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric disorders among many diverse populations and the therapeutic interventions that can facilitate healing for individuals. Marsha went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing degree and PMHNP certification in 2024 and is grateful to have the privilege of now working with clients in this advanced provider capacity.

Marsha believes in a holistic approach to mental health care that emphasizes the importance of informed collaboration and open communication. She understands the importance of building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients and is committed to ensuring that individuals feel heard and validated throughout their treatment journey. She recognizes that it can be difficult for individuals experiencing mental illness to ask for help, and is passionate about advocating for mental health awareness and reducing stigma within the community. Marsha believes that every person has the right to access the care they need to function at their highest potential, and is honored to be able to assist individuals in doing so. Marsha’s clinical areas of interest include but are not limited to: anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and ADHD.

When not practicing as a clinical provider, Marsha enjoys tending to her veggie garden and backyard chicken flock, and spending time with her husband, their four children, and her new little grandson.
