Shamim Namakula is licensed and board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2018. For the last 6 years, Shamim has been practicing as a registered nurse in skilled nursing facilities, providing compassionate nursing care to the sick and the elderly. Shamim has experience with mental health conditions including but not limited to depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, eating disorders, life transitions, grief, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, self-esteem issues, and self-harm. Shamim completed her Master of Science in Nursing in 2021 from Maryville University to become Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Colorado.  

Shamim respects culture and treats every person as an individual with a non-judgmental attitude, providing holistic care and providing evidence-based support. 

Shamim will work with you to find an individualized treatment plan to meet your specific needs. This involves an integrative approach to include medication management, psychoeducation, nutrition, and complementary therapies. Her areas of interest include but are not limited to mood, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, trauma, stressor-related disorders, and eating disorders.
