Tara is a licensed, board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) bringing over 14 years of nursing experience to her role as a provider. She works with individuals aged 8 and up, offering personalized, evidence-based care for a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and mood disorders.

Since earning her nursing degree in 2010, Tara has worked in various acute care settings, observing the pervasiveness of mental struggle accompanying physical ailments. She spent the last six years working in the fast-paced environment of the emergency room, developing a comprehensive skill set in crisis management. It was her time in the ER during the COVID-19 pandemic that provided a sobering perspective on the overwhelming impact of the mental health crisis on patients and healthcare workers alike. Seeing the limitations of acute care settings in addressing long-term mental health needs inspired a desire to contribute more meaningfully to mental health care. This desire led Tara to pursue a career as a PMHNP, where she can provide compassionate care, advocate for early intervention, and help individuals rebuild stability in their lives.

Tara understands the importance of treating the person, not just the diagnosis. She approaches each patient with a holistic mindset, considering not only their symptoms but also the context of their lives, strengths, and resilience. She is committed to an approach that integrates medication management, psychotherapy, and lifestyle interventions to support mental wellness while also addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in her practice. Tara works collaboratively with her clients, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their treatment process. Her goal is to empower individuals to achieve their optimal mental health by fostering trust and hope throughout the treatment journey.

Outside of work, Tara enjoys staying active in all the typical Colorado ways, live music, staying connected with friends and family, and loving on her 13-year-old Weimaraner Sofie.
